X-Ray

An x-ray or radiography is the oldest form of imaging. A small amount of radiation is used to produce an image called a radiograph. X-rays are painless and are taken on any parts of the body to help diagnose fractures or other medical conditions. X-rays are taken from many different positions depending on the part of your body which is being x-rayed. The technologist will explain the exam to you and then position you for the x-ray.

If you are, or think you are, pregnant, you need to inform the technologist before the exam. In this case, your physician will determine if the x-ray is medically necessary for he diagnosis.
