Low Dose CT Scans - 40% Less Radiation

Low Dose CT scans are the standard at Lehigh Valley Diagnostic Imaging

Patients requiring a CT scan at LVDI have been receiving 40% less radiation dose since February 2011.

LVDI has acquired “state of the art GE” scanning equipment featuring ASIR that uses advanced image reconstruction technique that makes it possible to dramatically REDUCE radiation dose without compromising image quality. This technology will minimize the risk to all patients, especially children and young adults who are more susceptible to overexposure to radiation.

Radiation dose for a particular study depends on many factors such as patient weight/build, type of scan, image area and resolution. This technology does not sacrifice image quality with the reduced dose. CT is the diagnostic exam of choice when people are ill or injured or when a doctor suspects a medical problem that is not easily detected with a conventional physical exam.
